The museum

The museum of ‘Zeitreise Mensch’ (lit: time travel of mankind) in Botengasse 2 in the centre of Kurtatsch, is a museum of a special kind. 

Even the building which houses the museum is very special.  It is one of the oldest farmhouses in Kurtatsch: the Am Orth residence.  It covers an extraordinary time span: it demonstrates in a very lively and interesting way, the history and development of the South of South Tyrol from the Stone Age to Modern Times. 
Siegmund Schweiggl and his son Wolfgang lovingly present archaeological findings, tools and much more - sometimes even renovated and restored.  Visitors are welcome from April to the end of August, every Friday at 10 a.m. for an interesting type of time travel.  If pre-booked, it is possible to receive groups throughout the year, at any time of the day.
